When I had my first child, they wanted us to stay an extra night at the hospital. They let us go home on one condition - that we stay at my mom's house, which was in the same city. (We lived in a different county). Well, our son Charley spent his first night sleeping in a dresser drawer at mom's house. My mother did not care for my dad's family, so no deep roots there.
