Head on over to The Ivory Tower

I have a gift for all of my writer friends. No longer will you have to spend hours searching for places to submit your work. Have fun perusing the market listings at The Ivory Tower Click here

I have been helping a new blog buddy learn more about the writing world, and I have spent a few days editing for her.

This evening, I found this wonderful resource. Call it Karma; I call it an unexpected gift.

I babysat all day yesterday. My 3 1/2 year old granddaughter, Nicole wore me out, but when she took my face in her hands and said, "You my best friend, Nana," I melted.

A few days ago, I walked into her room and saw hair on the floor.

Who cut your hair?" I asked in a non-threatening voice.

"Nash." She blamed the dog.

"I don't think Nash can hold scissors with paws. WHO cut your hair?"

"Nick." She kept those big blue eyes on my face.

"Nick's at school. WHO cut your hair?" No reply; chin on her chest.

"Did you cut your own hair?"

"WAAAAA."

I had to hug her.

Now she looks like the little Dutch Boy with way too short bangs.

Usually children chop their locks just before picture day or holidays.
She did hers just before starting preschool. One more thing to add to her journal.

All day? Wow! You are a more energetic grandma than me. Riley wears me out in an afternoon.

I will have to check out the site. Thanks for sharing it.

I agree. That's stamina! in a good way, of course! And a lovely compliment.

Dear Nicole's Best Friend: Thanks for the lead to The Ivory Tower! I'm heading over there now!

Thanks for the link.

When my youngest stepson was six, he grabbed the razor in the shower and shaved his "sideburns." Which resulted in two bald spots over his temples. Good thing he had that little-kid white-blond hair. It was not too noticeable. He also pretended that nothing happened. He was shocked that some of his hair was missing.

When I was small Mom tells me I took scissors and cut right down the middle of my hair between my pig tails. She cried. I cried when one of my daughters did the same thing.

What makes kids do this?!?! I did it, my kids did it, and well, it just happens a lot.

Linda,

As a woman who has had more than my share of "bad hair days", I can relate! lol
I enjoyed reading this. Thanks for sharing.

There's something about scissors and little kids hair. My granddaughter did it at 5. But Grandma's do forgive better don't they?

LOL My youngest daughter (now 17) cut her hair when she was 3. I was out one day and left my husband in charge. Christy did such a hack job on herself Joe was afraid to call me and tell me she'd outsmarted him with the scissors. Hehehe...I took her to the hairdresser and he just laughed. "Can you fix it?" I asked. "Not unless you'd like me to shave her head," was the answer. *sigh* I have a friend whose son cut off her daughter's pony tail! Yikes! Talk about a chop-job.

And thanks for the link!

Thanks for the link. I have been thinking about writing and actually submitting work. You and Sioux have been the writing inspiration for me lately, and it will be good for me to get back into the writing groove.
