Tell me something...anything

Turned on the computer Monday afternoon and a blue screen popped up with a bunch of code and the word error. After much tinkering by he who knows how to sign on in safe mode, he flipped it off. SO DID I.

The geeks are now in possession, and for five days I am going to be unable to breathe deeply. We have an external hard drive, so all I can do is hope...ugh. I can't even think about it.

Tell me something to get my mind off it?

Sorry. I, too, am seeing some blue and trying to limp along to get to place where I have time and energy to get this machine in. Why do we feel like we are cutting off our right hand to turn loose of this box? I can't tell you much except the sun is shining right now, that it is to warm and be sunny for sure by the weekend. Plan some kind of outing. Ah, how about a walk through the art museum there (take a pad and pencil for writing ideas!) and a lunch out...can't remember, does the museum have a place to lunch on site?

To take your mind off it . . . well, blue is the color of the water behind you in the photo on your blog side bar, and I'm pretty sure that's the ocean. So I believe you should think of the beach! :)

Oh Linda.
So sorry to hear of the computer glitch. Hope it is resolved soon. You would NOT be a happy camper without your computer (nor would I. Plus, I'd miss you.) Susan

Computers are wonderful when they are working and a nightmare when they are not. I always feel lost and disconnected from the world when something goes wrong with mine, and I fear losing the information it contains.
I agree with Lisa above. The best thing to do is to think about being at the beach. :) Hope you get your computer back soon and it is easily fixed.

Think of the song, "Blue Moon as you think of that blue computer screen.

Perhaps Bill would serenade you with the song to distract you?

Sorry to hear that you are without a computer. Maybe it will please you to hear that I HAVE BEEN THROTTLED!

With Genius home for Christmas break, I mysteriously exceeded my allotment of internet thingies. So now I am being punished at the speed of dial-up.

Genius blames The Pony, and The Pony denies wrongdoing. We have never exceeded our quota without Genius in the house. It wouldn't surprise me if Mr. Computer Science Major didn't put a glitch on The Pony's laptop to block him from his unlimited phone tethering internet and put him on mine briefly just so he could point the finger.

The Pony and I would never figure it out.

Pick a favorite song from when you were young. The words will then stick in your mind and you won't be able to think of anything else.

You need computer jokes. Here are some:
Q: Why was the computer cold? A: It left its Windows open.
Q: Why did the computer keep sneezing? A: It had a virus.
Q: What is a computer virus? A: A terminal illness.

As someone who has been there and done that WAY too many times, I highly recommend cloud backup!

Oh, Linda, I definitely feel your pain. Have been there myself. To take your mind off it, how about: it's warm today, so at least you can play outside and forget the computer problems for a while...??

Just imagine all the ideas you'll think up on your imposed computer break!

It's scary, really, because you're already a fount of ideas and stories--I don't need a Linda having MORE time to write me under the table!!! :-)
