I am sitting here early this morning contemplating darting to the bakery for a cheese danish. The thought is making my mouth water, the thought is making my mind and mouth battle: oooh the taste vs. ohhh your wide behind! The thought is tempting. Since I am thinking, I thought I'd share the latest writer call outs that I received this week:
Chicken Soup has an immediate call out for Christmas Stories, but don't ruin Santa for young readers in your essay.
Spruce Mountain Press is sponsoring Annual Past Loves Contest at www.ourpastloves.comcontest They are seeking up to 700 words; no entry fee, by 8/17/10

Hi Linda-I had a call out from Cup of Comfort in my inbox this week, too. Can't remember the topic, but I know it's open till September.
Go on and get that cheese danish. Park a block from the bakery and walk it off. :-)
Oh Linda, I know the struggle. Trust me. I think Cathy's suggestion is good. Walk and eat! ha! (Check my post on walking at the track for June 16th. I think you'll get a chuckle out of it). Susan
That Danish sounds good--now that I am cooling off. I got up at 6 this morning to mow and finished at 8.It was cooler than but so humid. I was soaking and NOT hungry at all then. But now, well that Danish is tempting me too! Maybe you should get the Danish because you will need to keep up your stength in the heat that coming this afternoon! :)
Hi Linda - The CS callout was in my email, too, and I've been puzzling over the best story to submit. I know I have a million, but darned if I can drag up the best details of any one.
As for the danish, well...cheese has a lot of calcium so in a roundabout way that danish is like a daily serving of dairy, and that correlates well to the food pyramid, so it's all good. (I can justify the consumption of any food given enough time. :) )
Hey, I like the way all you ladies think, when it comes to sweets, desserts, etc.!! We're kindred spirits!! :)
