and I want everyone to watch me.
I don't have the face, and certainly not the body to compete.
I am not an egomaniac; in fact, I am rather shy.
It really makes me uncomfortable, but yes, I AM going to expose myself.
I will be reading my personal essays and a poem. Please come listen.

I am so excited and would like to have as many people as possible in attendance at this FREE event. It would be nice if you bought a drink or a bite to eat at Dressel's, but you don't have to. Okay, I must know...Was this Howard Schwartz once (or perhaps still is) a professor at UMSL?
I have a work meeting every first Tuesday. I can nip out early, but do you have any idea when you go "on"?
Linda, if I were on your side of the state I would definitely be there! Take notes and put on your blog how it goes...tell me how one organizes such a thing...would I be brave enough to risk this here???? This side of the state does great things with paintings and sculpture, but nothing I know of with written arts.
Linda, I've heard you read quite a few times, so I know you can do it! I'll have to see if I can make it that night!
Wish I could, honest! Enjoy!
You're so wonderful at promoting your work. I'd love to come, but once again, distance dictates my inability to attend. Maybe one of these days. Have fun with it!
Super exciting! Wished I lived closer so I could watch. :O)
Have something scheduled for that night but wish I could make it! You are doing it with some talented people and so are they!
For Sioux: Yes, Howard Schwartz was/is a professor at UMSL. I think he was guest editor of Natural Bridge at one point, too.
Congratulations! I am sure you will do just fine with the 'big dogs!'
