I snagged a quote off Facebook. I am unable to attribute it to a particular person. But I think it is worth reprinting. So many people harbor grudges and hold onto hurt feelings and suffer because of something that another person said or did. When we allow others to affect us in this way, we give them the power. This quote is the antidote. This is another way of saying, let it go.
"Resentment is allowing someone to live rent free in your head.
Forgiveness is handing that person an eviction notice."

Very good Linda and so true
oh my goodness, this is awesome!!! I may have to tweet that particular one!
When I read this quote, I had to come over and tell you how much I like it! It's something I would have liked to read years ago when I was REALLY deep in resentment and had to let go of many difficult situations in my life.

Great quote. I've also heard (along the same lines) that holding a grudge is like drinking poison and expecting the OTHER person to die.
I like that quote. The first part of it sounds like 12-step language. Very meaningful, though. Thanks for your visits and comments to my blog, Linda. Always love when you stop by. Susan
Love it!
I haven't heard that quote before; but it is surely the truth! I'm learning not to waste my energy on resentment; I need it for better things. Appreciate your visits to my site and all of your insightful comments. It's very encouraging.
Excellent! Thank you for sharing this.
I haven't heard that quote before, but it is just so good. I think I will borrow it if I may!! We condemn ourselves to a life of bitterness if we let people's actions rule us for the rest of our lives.
I am so pleased that this quote inspired many of you to repost it. It is a real eye-opener, isn't it?
Great advice.
Very wise quote. We do far more to create our own outcomes than other people ever could.

Ha! Someone is very smart. I read something similar in a church bulletin: Worrying about something that has yet to happen is like paying interest on something you have yet to buy.
Such wise words!
Beautiful!
