"Snowing" tulip petals
It is the simple things in life that mean the most to me. When spring burst forth two weeks ago, I was in my glory. The red bud trees decked in their purple finery, the deep pink azaela bushes skirted in full bloom, and the yellow forsythias reminded me of girls in prom dresses showing off. When the tulips poked out of the ground, I took my students for a neighborhood parade with musical instruments, and we sang songs to the flowers. "We're so glad, we're so glad, thank you God, for the flowers in spring."
I teach my kiddos to stop when they see God's beauty and say, "Thank you God, for my eyes." It is the sweetest thing to hear them do this spontaneously.
The wind gusted last week as Nicole and I were walking past the tulip tree by school. We giggled as the pink petals rained down upon us. As soon as all of the children arrived, we hiked back to the corner and stood beneath the tree and let the tree "snow" upon us. The children picked up gobs of petals and tossed them in the air and romped and played. What a glorious, giggly, spontaneous way to start our day.
Has spring sprung in your neck of the woods? We're holding near 80 degrees in the Midwest. I am cherishing these warm days, sleeping with the windows open and sitting outside to read in the evening. Spring IS a reawakening.

The picture is delightful. Although it's too warm too early (for my tastes), I am becoming resigned to the fact that spring--indeed--is here.
Oh, too warm for the month. It is acutally hot in the house at 81 inside tonight. Saw a friend today and she thinks it is climate change due to global warming. Said to her it feels like it is warm while watching your house burn down! She also noted that hear dogwoods are out which is an April tree. Also turtles are first crossing road in May and June, but are already starting to move now!
March is bustin' out all over down here in Backroads. The petals were flying off the Bartlett Pear trees outside my classroom window.
Very cute picture! I am in awe, every single day, of all the beauty of nature. This early spring/summer(?) we're having is unbelievable! We've had our a/c on a lot already. I don't care if it is only March, when it's hot inside, The Ronald and I cannot take the heat! And besides, the money we've saved by barely using the furnace, makes up for it, right?! P.S. I don't believe in global warming....just climate changes. There have been horrible heat waves, off and on, for centuries. I, too, am cherishing these days!
Oh Linda, I can see the joy on those sweet little faces! You must be such a wonderful teacher to help give the little ones an appreciation for our world. Congratulations. Susan
Spring is amazing, I agree ;)
You give those little folks a great impression of life.

Yes, yes, yes! The petals are glorious! My neighbor's tree produces an extravagant amount. One year they apologized to me for all the mess! Petals all over the porch and sidewalk!
It sure has, but we had a very cold morning a couple days ago and are expecting another cold one tomorrow. The tulip trees are something else. They make the prettiest carpet when they drop from the limbs.
A reawakening indeed, and I love it! What a marvellous photo of all the little ones under the snow blossom !
What a sweet picture. I can hear the giggles.
