I admit it, I did it!

One of my favorite writer quotes is by William Wordsworth ~
Fill your paper with the breathings of your heart.

I am witnessing love at first sight with my almost 16 year old grandson who is filling the phone with texts of his heart. I have never seen a boy so smitten. He was texting during a funeral! His usually glum mood is elevated; his smiles are free instead of forced. Ahh, young love. He thinks it's the real deal ;)

I am so mad at myself. I was served a one pound, 1,000 calorie-laden gourmet brownie at  the funeral luncheon. I was too full to eat it there, so I took it home. I was going to be good. I cut it into eighths and froze it. I intended to nibble a nugget at a time. I did nibble a nugget at a time...all the time...a bite with a cup of coffee to start my day... a nibble with my lunch and then, after the hectic day and several interruptions at school ... a few more bites. The debates did me in ... I shoved every last piece into my mouth. Ugh. If I had more ...

Thanks for the quote. It's a nice way to start a piece when you're not sure what you want to write!

In my world...brownies are called trigger foods...and not allowed! I enjoyed yours, however, through your "little chunks!" Thanks!!

You eat the brownies, I'll eat the extra cheese on the pizza. The stuff that falls off onto the cardboard circle just begging to be picked at. Mmmmm. And if there's a crispy piece of pepperoni all mixed in, I'm your girl.

Linda--

I was in the same boat last night. I planned on resisting dessert, but Lynn was stronger than me, and I surrendered...

I hope you weren't too bogged down with guilt to enjoy that brownie. It sounds like a good one! I made a batch of chocolate chip muffins today and then had to haul my 14 year-old son into the kitchen to eat the rest before I did! All I want to eat is chocolate, chocolate, chocolate! (I'm jealous of your brownie.)

My seventeen-year-old son tried to force-feed me some fudge last night. I bought if for him through a school fundraiser, because he loves fudge. I told him I didn't want any fudge. It's easier to just say no than try it and want more.

"You are ridiculous! Who doesn't try ONE BITE of fudge! I can't believe you. You really need to try it. It's TERRIBLE!"

Yeah. He wanted me to eat it because it tasted like, in his words, sawdust mixed with a little bit of chocolate. He did not throw it away. He says he can only eat a little at a time. His daily recommended sawdust allowance, I suppose.

Oh boy, I can relate!

... My own weakness is salt; salty ANYthings.
Stress goes better with pretzels n’ chips! (.... and cold pizza!)

Don't get discouraged. Tomorrow is a new day. :)

I've cut down on sweets (3 small chocolate chip cookies and 1 larger cookie). Don't laugh. You should see what I was eating before!

Today, someone brought Dunkin Donuts into the office. I stayed away from the break room and didn't even look at them.
