I'm in the movies now!

I came home from vacation to discover  my mug on YOU TUBE. I look like a bobble head; my voice sounds like my grandma's; my hair looks hideous, the curls on top of my head had all fallen by the time it was my turn to read my story for Listen to Your Mother St. Louis, on May 11, 2013. There were seventeen of us who read, and we are all critical of ourselves. I guess it's human nature. Click on the link to view me reading my story, A working Mom's Retirement Plan.

This picture was taken a few days ago in the Bahamas. Vacation relaxes me, eases the stress lines and softens the wrinkles. I love salt air in my hair and on my skin. I could live by the sea and be as happy as can be, but alas, it is time to get back to reality.

Linda, this is fantastic! You did such a marvelous job. You sure got a lot of laughs! I'm glad it's online so I could see it, since I missed the performance. Way to go! (I think you could still have a second career on the stage...)

Linda,
You did a great job, and your story resonated with the audience.

I never noticed your bobblehead, flat hair or any other problems.

We're too hard on ourselves. I've watched my video twice, and I can now look at it without cringing, but my voice sounds so different than it does inside my head.

Linda--

You looked great on stage, and the audience loved your story. Take your glasses off... then perhaps you won't be able to be so self-critical because you can't see! ;)

Thanks for leading us to your film, Linda. You did such a super job, not only in the poignant writing but in a very professional delivery. Great work!

Ah, Linda, so well done! And if you don't believe me, take another listen to that audience laughing...

Public speaking is NOT easy, but you made it look like a piece of cake. I loved your story and it was a joy to listen to. Great job!

I enjoyed that Linda. I know for sure most Moms can relate to your stories. Have our kids say. WHAT ARE YOU DOING MOM.

I know I can.

It annoys me that people call mothers who have a paying job as working mums as if those of us who do not have a paying job don't work. I am a mum, nanna, wife, sister and daughter and I work all day every day my job is work it is hard work.
I went over and listen to your speach and have to say it was great and I loved it made me laugh.......

I agree - I think we all find fault when watching ourselves. You certainly have nothing to be ashamed of. You looked great and you sounded amazing.
