Shiver me timbers and warm my heart

This is what we've had to contend with in early January. A foot of snow on the bird bath!

Wind gusts that blew 4 ft snow drifts up against the garden fence.

Temperatures so cold hot water tossed into the air returned to snow form.

My critique buddy and friend, Lynn Obermoeller, helped me edit one of my stories that I had intended to submit to Chicken Soup. My theme throughout was "Home Sweet Home." Imagine my surprise a few weeks later when she presented me with the wall plaques. I've had that little bear for years, and my New England friend, sent the wind-up pig timer.

On bitter cold days, when I am feeling down, all I have to do is look up at this grouping to feel the warmth of friendship. It really is the little things in life that matter most to me. However, a little sunshine would be nice!

We are getting more snow today. I wouldn't mind a little sunshine either. :) Your wall decor is very sweet. That would cheer me up too!

That's very deep snow you have! It looks very pretty, but I'm sure it must be a right pain if you have to go out in it. You are so right, in that it's the little things in life that can make us happy.

A nice winter perk for you! January is wearing on me a little. It reached 50 this afternoon but house feels cool to me. It was sunny...then quite a forbidding dark...and now a bit of sun again. Can it only be January????

Oh, my, I am all the more thankful for the gorgeous weather we are having now, because it won't be in July. It's great that you can find great things to bring out your cheer!

I think we have a little more winter before spring comes.

But if you need a ray of sweetness and light, you have Mr. Sunshine to brighten your day...

We're also in the deep freeze, Linda. After a foot of snow earlier in the week, another couple of inches fell today.

Stay warm, and read a good book (or write one)!

That's a sweet little wall grouping, it made me smile. I wish I could send you some of our warm sunshine.

It's been frigid here, too, Linda. The poor "boidies." No baths til spring. Take care and stay warm. Susan

I feel like I'm the only one liking this wintry weather. That home sweet home matches your little bear - how perfect!

You've reminded me of why I like living down South. lol New England snowed me out (I grew up in NH). Love your home-sweet-home grouping. It is warm and friendly!
