And my little amigo is off...

Exactly one week from his first birthday, with lots of encouragement, Liam finally started crawling. He is mobile, and it won't be long until he's walking. It is so exciting watching him in motion.  He is overly cautious and it takes him a while to believe he can, but once he starts moving and grooving he's off and going.

That's sort of how I am with writing. I am cautious, afraid to step out, try something that might propel me forward. Once I try and meet with success, I am inspired to try harder. How about you?

If you have been sitting on your laurels or waiting for someone to carry you, get up on your hands and knees and move forward. Don't stay where you are for too long, keep moving onward. Good luck in your writing endeavors. Step out in confidence.

From the string of your successes, I don't think you crawl much, Linda. I think mostly you're walking and running.

Happy to hear about Lima. It is a good advice for me. As you said i will be in my place waiting for someone to give me company for the first time. from next time i don't want anyone's help. I am trying to change this attitude. Thanks for sharing!

Can't believe it is time for him to be ready to walk. The year has gone so fast and I bet even faster for you!

Oh my goodness, that little boy is such a sweetie! I can't believe you would ever be cautious or afraid to step out with your writing...your success speaks for itself! I'm always impressed with with everything you manage to do as a writer, and a very good one at that. I'm feeling a little more like Liam lately, but working on staying with it. :)

Little Liam is so adorable!

It's true that when a writer meets with success it provides the encouragement to try again. But plowing through those dry spots is tough.

That little guy is just too cute. I love the pictures you post. He'll never know how often he's made people smile. :)

My writing is one thing about which I will never feel I'm in running mode. Even successes don't set me up for a sprint---they are a reminder that if I don't keep on keeping on I'll be back at the starting gate. Slow but steady wins the race, right? One day at a time.

He's such a cutie pie!

As for my writing, I tell myself baby steps is the way to get there. :)

Liam is so photogenic! Maybe he's taking it slow so he can stay in focus.

Such good advice to the laurel-resters like me!

Adorable picture!

I've always wondered if the way children learn to walk says something about how they approach the world. One of mine pulled himself up repeatedly until he had it just right, and then he just walked like he'd been doing it his whole life. The other launched herself forward with single-minded determination and didn't seem to notice falling. I am one who takes it slowly, but this is a good reminder that if I get too distracted with other things, I'll never move forward.
