The sun is shining and the house is shaking

What does it mean when your house is shaking, and a small shelf  just fell off the wall?
Not an earthquake. No, the dryer isn't travelling across the floor.
The pavers are out front FINALLY laying asphalt down our county road.

Hooray! Little things really mean a lot. Now to go find some sturdy anchors to suspend my shelf.

Sometimes you have to shake things up before you realize what you should have done all along, such as install those little Molly devices that hold screws in the wall. I talked about it forever. Now that the shelf over my bed is on a pillow where I lay my head, I think I will get a move on and secure it.

Although I tend to work best under deadline, procrastination leads to my laziness. Truthfully I'd rather be sitting on the patio on my porch swing reading. But I must write, because today is the last day of April and I need to submit two more pieces to meet my self-imposed quota of seven submissions a month.

I hope you have a productive day.The sun is shining, and I am pining to get outdoors. 85 degrees tomorrow! I am delighted.

What are your plans for this week?

SEVEN? Here I was, feeling sassy because I submitted ONE! Maybe I'll shoot for two for the month now. You are such a motivator!

I probably shouldn't rush on submitting, because I think I need to improve my reading before going all-out on writing. I thought this sentence, "Now to go find some sturdy anchors to suspend my shelf," said that you were going to try to suspend YOURSELF!

Oh, Linda, I sooo empathize with you! I've had house projects galore and my writing has suffered. I'd have been okay if it were only the back hall needing work, but then the washing machine bit the dust - and - while it was away from the wall I said, "Hey, why not dab some paint here?" And soon the garden will be calling. LOL Good for you for imposing a writing goal on yourself. You go, girl!

HeWho always has parts left over when he does a project, if he installed anything on the wall near my bed, I would definitely re-do it!!

I'm glad your head wasn't on that pillow when the shelf came down! It's funny how we are sometimes forced into doing things by outside circumstances, even when it is something we knew we should have done all along. I tend to take the path of least resistance--which doesn't always bring the best results--ha! :)

Love how you take a simple event and turn it into a lesson. That's one of your gifts, for sure! Plans for this week include a nice lunch and date at the dog beach with my daughter. We'll settle into our beach chairs and watch all the dogs run around in the surf. I'm hoping the little gal with the German Shepherd puppy will be there again. So cute!

I'm also impressed with seven submissions per month! That's more impressive knowing the number of projects we all have around the house!

Hi Linda..Spring has finally come to western Massachusetts as well. It was a longggggggggg winter. I love listening to the birdies sing. I think your writing goal is commendable. Take care and thanks for all the visits. Susan

I'm in awe of your number of monthly submissions. I'm lucky to submit seven pieces in a year. :-(
