Boogie woogie me

A friend sent an email with an video attachment: Take Me Back to the Fifties

http://oldfortyfives.com/TakeMeBackToTheFifties.htm

Oh my goodness, it is better than a birthday and Christmas present all in one. There are snippets of many old time rock and roll songs that make me want to jump and jive. So now, instead of moping about my laziness and wishing I had more time to exercise, I bee bop right here in front of the computer as MY music moves me to shake rattle and roll. Gotta go.

Our class has a "play list" which we use during transitions. All the songs are songs I love...One of them is Louis Prima's "Jump, Jive and Wail" and the kids are amazed that a song that cool is decades and decades and decades old.

Good music never dies...

Hi Sioux,
You took me back a few years. I used to direct/teach k-6th summer day camp in an inner city school years ago. As the kids waited in line I'd sing, "Who put the bop in the bop sh-bop-shh bop, who put the ram in the ram a dam a ding dong?" Before long they would all be singing it too. I just heard from a bunch of former campers on Facebook; they're all grown now, and they all say their summers didn't begin until the first day of camp. Good memories.
