A few of the simplest things

Isn't he a proud fellow? Hubby and I sat outside last evening and watched the cold front move in on a cloud bank. Fall weather is here. Those high 90's are finally gone.

The birds, bees and butterflies know change is in the air. We courted one another---this cardinal with his beautiful trill and I, with my poor excuse for a mimic whistle.

Our purple and pink flowers are in full bloom attracting a hundred butterflies and bees. But as I came close to take a photo, they flew off.

It really is the the simple things in life, so close to nature, that make me feel the happiest.

Yes, summer is on the wane over here as well. I don't mind so much this year, because we've had such a glorious summer for a change. I quite enjoy the evenings pulling in and being all nice and snug indoors. I couldn't agree with you more, about the simple things in life being the most important. Enjoy your weekend over there.

Yup, same for me, Linda. The little treasures that are ours each day, if we but look for them, give joy to our lives. Susan

Nice job on the cardinal. I haven't succeeded with such a good picture.

This lovely weather is perfect to bring out the nature lover in everyone. Your flowers are beautiful! Mine have all been fried by the heat.

Linda--I love the cool front that's moved in. Great photos. That puffed-up cardinal does indeed look like he's full of himself. He reminds me of someone you know...a tall man who--rumor has it--has been luring other writers into his magnetic attraction, like a cliff attracts lemmings...

I want that tomato in a few days.

Such a beautiful bird and a good capture of the butterfly and bee on the same flower.

You captured it...in photos and in words.

Lovely pics, Linda! I've seen cardinals, and they're so beautiful.

The weather turned cooler here as well. I hope fall stays around for awhile, so I don't have to face heating bills too soon. :)

Great photos, and like Val, I spotted the tomato in the background. Guess she gets first dibs.
