Look what we discovered downtown

The graffiti "taggers' are quite artistic and at some point the powers that be sanctioned the painting of the flood walls along the riverfront. This mural stretches for blocks, and each artist's design is unique, interesting and creative. I think this beautifies the far end of our riverfront area.

We spied these cyclists making their way through the centuries. Such handiwork!

But the most fascinating thing we saw was a wedding party in an industrial area. The photographer was using old downtown brick building as a back drop for the wedding photos. My granddaughter did the same thing on her wedding day. Interesting.
Don't you just love to discover unexpected surprises such as this? Anything fascinating in your world?

Those look just like my last bridesmaid dress. Size 8. Thirty years ago.

Love the wall art.

My youngest daughter is a photographer (a sophomore now earning her BA) and she's always scoping out interesting places for a shoot. That brick as a backdrop would be great - I can see why it is used!

Old brick walls...Something that's bordering on falling apart. Something that is crumbling. Something that is aged. Something that has "been there and done that" for a century or more.

Now I don't feel so bad about my skin tags and flab and rolls and obnoxious hairs and age spots and wrinkles...

Some graffiti I've seen can truly be defined as works of art. Amazing!

I love the cyclists:-) I worked in a hotel that was built to resemble an old factory. Very modern, urban. That place was a bride magnet! I think a lot of today's couples just aren't into the traditional hotel ballroom look. I worked for NYLO Hotels, if anyone has an interest in such things. www.nylohotels.com
It's fun to see what they've done.

I like brick walls...and old barns!

Nothing fascinating here...fishing trip...too soon after New Mexico...want to be on my own deck with iced tea and a close bathroom in this delightful weather!

The last unexpected surprise in my world was that snake on the floor of the barn. I'm glad I was not the discoverer.

Most people object to graffiti, and personally I hate the random ugly tags that are just sprayed over fences and signs, but I really enjoy the colourful artwork such as you've displayed here. It brightens up an otherwise dull area, and if the work has been commissioned by a local council, then the artists get paid as well as improving their skills. It isn't easy being so exact with a spray can.
Using a brick wall as a wedding background is a novel idea, people and photographers more often choose gardens or beaches around here.
