I know it is not nice to laugh at someone's problems, but this morning hubby and I couldn't stop laughing at what we witnessed.
The highways are still snow packed and treacherous after a 12 inch snowstorm three days ago that left high snow drifts. We had to go to the doctor ten minutes away. It took us thirty minutes. We saw lots of vehicles in the ditches.
We noticed what appeared to be a tire in the road and avoided it. Honey took me to breakfast at Denny's. When we came out, we watched a car run over the tire...which turned out to be the sliced retread that had come off someone's car. We looked on in disbelief as a guy continued to drive onto it. Doing so caused the "tire" to upright and wrap itself around HIS tire. How he didn't see it is beyond us. He looked confused and thumped-thumped-thumped to the side of the road and got on his cell phone, probably to call AAA. Can you imagine when they respond to fix a flat and discover it isn't even HIS tire? And it's not flat.

Glad you still have sense of humor in this stuff. Nice you had an outing. We are going to have to face it shortly as we have movies from last week due today. We are up to 23 so far. It is to warm to 40s by end of the week. I am not sure what to expect next. We are eating too much also...the days run from one meal to another supported by snacks!!! Ha-Ha.
Only you, Linda, would witness somebody else's detached flat try to reattach to another tire! Well, you and AAA. They probably got a kick out of fixing that one.
Linda--I got in line for an automatic car wash--after our first snow and before this most recent snow--and observed this lady in her car who was talking on her cell phone and she THOUGHT she was in line behind me. However, the car was parked, and there was no one in the car. The lady kept honking and trying to get the person to move forward in line. I almost got out and told her, "Lady, get your butt out and look--no one is in that car." but I figured why should I get out and she remain in her car, honking? Another two cars got in line in front of her before she figured things out.
People are funny.
Now that really IS bizarre ! I tend to agree with Tammy, in that it could only happen to you that you managed to witness something like that!!
Too bad My He Who tows didn't get that one! I have not seen much of him since the storm hit!
I could hear Gomer Pyle's voice in my head as I read this saying, "Surprise, surprise!"
Oh dear strange things happen but stranger things happen when you don't pay attention.
Merle...................
Truth IS stranger than fiction!
Oh that's funny, I had a chuckle at him ringing AAA before even checking his own tyre.
That is odd! It's kind of amazing that you were there right at the right time to see it too.
