I am a people watcher. I've been watching some weird trends. I saw a woman with a "sunburst" necklace on a thick chain that she wears 24/7 because she has to. It is tattooed on her thick neck/chest. Not a colorful tattoo, but the plain blue "sailor-tattoo" ink. What an accessory! No worse than the guy with nickel-sized black plugs in his ear lobes.

On a positive note, my children, grandkids and honey boy are all doing well; and everything works out, as I knew it would. My daughter and son are attending a new church TOGETHER. ...not since they were little, and attended Sunday School.

There as a lady that stayed here for a time that had "eyeliner" tattooed on her eyelids. It was black and she always looked surprised. I always thought that maybe she should have gone with a more subtle color ......

I saw a woman who has had a stone (a diamond?) permanently embedded into her skin--right where a pendant would hang.

People are strange...

I think I'd just rather wear a necklace I can remove at night. And what a great thing about your son and daughter!

Today I read in the online paper that a local tattoo parlor broke the Guinness World Record for the number of tattoos given in 24 hours. They ran a special: 2 inches, 2 colors, for $20. People were lined up around the block and down the street.

I think you may soon have a lot more people to watch. There are 1,844 new tattoos on the street. Well, technically on PEOPLE on the street.

Glad things are looking up for your family, Linda. Sounds like the down time has done a world of good.

And I definitely agree with you about the weird trends. I often ask, what will people think of next? But then, I don't really want to know ;)

The necklace tattoo sounds quite odd. I don't understand the things people do sometimes.

Your son and daughter going to the same church together again made me smile.

I can't imagine getting a tattoo, but I do have some weird fascination about people who get them.

I love people watching - I make up stories in my head about them. I especially like to see what people buy at the 10 items or less aisle at the grocery store. I imagine they're having a party and serving the food they have in their basket. Who are the guests? What are they celebrating?

I sure hope nobody is checking out MY shopping cart!

Hi Linda, Haven't visited for some time; my novel is taking over my life I tell you! Regarding those tattoos, piercings, etc: what with gravity, old age, and all...one just has to wonder what kind of saggy picture those tats will become in a few years. Like a watercolor painting that accidentally got wet...

Isn't there an old Cole Porter song named "Anything Goes"? Anything does go these days.
