This morning I heard audio and saw video of the barricades being removed from our state capitol because they were installed "only" for the governor's inauguration. Yet, there are verified threats of violence predicted for the next week. So what?
And in the nation's capitol, after a domestic terrorist attack, officials are refusing to go through metal detectors?! The Capitol Police are standing by looking helpless as to what to do?! Metal detectors? SO WHAT!
I said this a long time ago when I taught preschool. My room was housed in a middle school. I witnessed inconsistent accounatblity, lack of consequences, and infractions overlooked when students AND teachers broke rules.
Someone passed out handbooks on conduct. The whole attitude was a huge collective shrug. SO WHAT!
When many federal, state, and local officials neglected to impose a mask mandate, and a few mayors broke rank and did insist, opposers refused. Mandate? So what?!
So covid deaths are rampant. That is what!
Arrogance, apathy, helplessness. Rules? So what?!
Until there are consequences to actions and words, and enforcement of rules and laws ...
I pray for peace.

It's all so hard to understand, Linda. We are in the middle of history-making and not of the best kind. God help ALL of us. Susan
It is incredibly heartbreaking. I cried watching the events unfold on January 6, feeling exactly as I felt on September 11. I keep using the word horrifying, because that's what it was to me. Now I'm terrified to think about what people who wish to disrupt our democracy may do next.
Linda, God hears your prayers. He wants peace too. For you, for us, for them. Hold on. It's coming.
Sometimes, it's better to ignore things in order to avoid escalation.
I've been concentrating on ONLY what I can control....which isn't anything beyond me.
Listening to the debates on impeachment today was a headache inducing night mare. I finally tuned it off and started cooking. There is no reasoning with sheer stupidity. It is a frightening time we live in.
I too pray for peace. For sanity. For common sense. For common decency. For unity instead of division.
I await investigations, arrests, trials, and justice. Each day, the news reports more stories that indicate that the evil is from inside the House... and Senate.
I understand that you need to vent, we all do from time to time. Our world is in chaos right now. But don't worry, my dear friend. This is God's world, and He is taking care of it. : )
