A little Cat Nip

This sassy cat talks more than any cat I've ever known. He mimicks us, he whines, he begs. And he has dozens of cat toys, but look at what he claimed as his prize, a piece of paper. He laid on it, rolled on it, scartched at it and was very content.

Sort of reminds me of my son when he was a little boy. He would receive lots of Christmas presents but preferred playing with the boxes.

Just goes to prove, you don't need fancy toys to make Sassy Boy happy.

When I reached over for it this evening, he nipped my arm. Well keep it then!

Maybe that was just a love bite, thanking you for the paper! One of our cats would sit on the porch rail as I walked laps around and around. He'd reach out a paw and pull my hand towards him. I though he wanted petting, but he'd also bite!

The cat on the paper looks cute!
Your post has reminded me of the fact that even to this day (mature woman in the middle of her seventies), I get more interested in the box rather than in its content :)

My cats would sit on the one piece of paper I needed. If I was sitting at my desk and working with a document, they would zero in on that document and plop their bottom right on top of it.

Your cat is a character. I wonder if that is because he takes after Daddy?

Martha, the boy cat, is more into tormenting the pack of dogs than "things". My old cat, Gremlin ( may he rest in peace) loved bags. He would get inside a plastic bag just sit there waiting to be discovered. He was here one day, gone the next. He was very old, approaching 20, and the theory is that he wandered away to die. I loved the haughty old guy and would have a box of ashes, had I ever found his remains.

Your cat looks so content just laying there with the piece of paper. It reminded me of the other day when I gave Mia a fairy wrapped in a paper towel and put in a plastic baggie. And she was fascinated with the baggie that she didn't even open the fairy until I helped her haha. How sweet that your son just preferred the boxes when he was little. My kids loved them as well. ; )

Cats always seem to go for the simple. A wadded up piece of paper to bat around or a box to jump in is far more attractive than a fancy toy.
