Has this ever happened to you?

Have you ever had word visitors? I was coming up from the laundry room praying about a loved one who will be going to the doctor today.

A word popped into my head that I have never used and can't remember reading. WHY did this happen? I couldn't define the word so I went to the dictionary.

preternatural: exceeding what is natural; inexplicable by ordinary means.

Maybe it was just a brain blip, but I would like to believe it was a preternatural message that this loved one will be okay.

Have you ever had word visitors?

I don't think I have, Linda. Occasionally I'll come across a word I don't know the meaning of, then I'll look it up, but a word just popping into my brain? I don't recall any. Susan

Yes. Words come to me in dreams that I end up looking up later. One I remember blogging about was palimpsest: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Palimpsest

I don't think that has ever happened to me. I hope your loved one will be OK though.

The name "Sasquatch" came breezing into my brain, and then the image of a huge gray creature loomed over me--it was close to seven feet tall.

(Shudder.) It was terrifying...

I don't know if words have come to me like that or not. But many ideas come to me that way. Hope your friend does okay.

No. No extra words have popped into my head. They probably can't fit in edgewise.

I hope everything works out for your loved one.

Not often, usually when I'm writing something, email or comment, I'll write a word I wouldn't normally use and don't know the meaning of, so I look it up and it is appropriate.

Yes, but I usually assume I read it somewhere and retained it in my subconscious. Never considered it from your perspective but I do believe that could happen. Best wishes to your friend.
